MY MUM WAS A FUN LOVING PERSON TO THE END. SHE DIED
11 DAYS AFTER MY WEDDING AND NEVER GOT TO SEE THE
WEDDING PHOTOS. SHE HAD 4 CHILDREN 11 GRANDCHILDREN
AND 11 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. SHE WAS LOVED BY EVERY
ONE WHO KNEW HER. SHE WAS KNOWN AS :DIAMOND LIL: BY
ALL HER FRIENDS. SHE HAD SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE AND GAVE TO EVERY ONE.
SHE WILL BE REMEMBERED BY SO MANY .
WE WENT OUT AS NORMAL THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND TO THE WEDDING AND MUM WASN'T HERSELF. SHE KEEP DRIFTING
AS IF SHE WASN'T WITH US. RAY TOOK HER HOME AS USUAL. I CALLED HER EVERY DAY 4 OR 5 TIMES TIMES TO
MAKE SURE SHE WAS OK. TUESDAY SHE SAID SHE WAS STAYING IN BED. WEDNESDAY THE CARERS COULDN'T GET ANY
ANSWER SO WE ALL GO RUSHING AROUND AND SHE WAS IN BED ASLEEP. SHE HAD A SANDWICH AND SAID SHE WAS
GOING TO LAY DOWN AGAIN, SHE CALLED ME AT 4 PM TO SAY SHE WAS OK AND HAD A DRINK BUT WAS STAYING IN
BED. I GOT A CALL AT 6 PM TO TELL ME TO GET DOWN THERE STRAIGHT AWAY. WHEN I GOT THERE I WAS SO
SHOCKED. THEY HAD MUM LAYING ON THE HALL WAY FLOOR TRYING TO REVIVE HER I HAD TO STEP OVER HER. BUT
IN THE END THEY SAID SHE HAD GONE. SHE JUST WENT TO SLEEP AND NEVER WOKE UP.
THEY PUT MUM BACK IN HER BED AND I MADE SURE SHE WAS COVERED UP.THE UNDERTAKERS CAME A FEW HOURS
LATER.I WENT TO SEE MUM EVERY DAY IN THE CHAPEL OF REST. WE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY MUM WAS STILL
WARM WHEN THE UNDERTAKERS CAME FOR HER. IT WAS A COUPLE DAYS LATER THAT WE FOUND OUT WHY. WHEN SHE
WAS PLACED BACK INTO HER BED HER ELECTRIC BLANKET WAS STILL ON HIGH. MUM NEVER LIKED THE COLD. WE
ALL MISS YOU SO MUCH AND YOUR PLACE IN OUR HEARTS CAN NEVER BE FILLED. LOVE YOU MUM. XXX

Grief Is Like A River
My grief is like a river,
I have to let it flow,

Of relinquishing the past.

I'll reach the shore at last.

That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
And pray the Lord, your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time
That I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
And call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
So I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
To stop and say "I love you,"
Instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
So I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow
To make up for an oversight,
And we always get a second chance
To make everything just right.
There will always be another day
To say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance to say
Our "Anything I can do?"
But just in case I might be wrong,
And today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
And I hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
Young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
You get to hold your loved one tight.
So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
Why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
You'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
For a smile, a hug, or a kiss
And you were too busy to grant someone,
What turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today,
And whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
And that you'll always hold them dear
Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
You'll have no regrets about today.
